Peter Haines Thompson an Leslie Diana Franks

Greg Franks and Rebecca Watts, both of Huntsville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Diana Franks of Columbia, S.C., to Peter Haines Thompson of Columbia, S.C., son of Lloyd and Barbara Thompson of Florence, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dorothy Franks of Athens and Richard and Nancy Klan of Huntsville and the late Jerry Franks.

She is a 2004 graduate of Grissom High School and a 2009 graduate of Auburn University where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

She is employed by Palmetto Health as a registered nurse in PICU.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of South Florence High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received a bachelor’s degree in geography.

He is employed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control as a GIS analyst.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 24 at Monte Sano United Methodist Church in Huntsville.
