Athens and Limestone County arrest and incident reports for Monday, May 23, 2011.
County arrests
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Monday:
• Laquiton Deon Grays, 18, of 123 Fifth St., Madison, violating license to carry a pistol
• Larry Dewayne Hardy, 47, of 13925 Shaw Road, Lot 17, Athens, public intoxication and possession of prohibited liquor
• Charles Edward Hobson Jr., 41, of 27929 N. Wales Road, Elkmont, driving under the influence, attempting to elude, improper lights and possessing open container of alcohol; Deputy Rhett McNatt activated patrol car lights to stop suspect’s truck, which had broken headlight, but suspect failed to stop until Elkton and North Wales roads, said McNatt.
• Daniel Lee Marston, 50, of 13925 Shaw Road, Lot 7, Athens, DUI, no driver’s license and possession of prohibited liquor
• Karen Leigh Ann Marston, 48, of 13925 Shaw Road, Lot 7, Athens, public intoxication and possession of prohibited liquor
• Edward Glenn McMeans, 59, of 23156 Memory Way, Athens, third-degree criminal trespass and possession of a controlled substance; Deputy arrested suspect for trespass and when incarcerated, jailers found substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine .
• Jesse Cross Poole, 20, of 28266 Huntsville Browns Ferry, Madison, first-degree possession of marijuana
County thefts
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Monday:
• Three Ford engines, two wheel adaptors, electric motors and miscellaneous scrap, undetermined value, stolen May 20 from 16000 block Shaw Road
• Two sleeping bags, a CD case containing 48 CDs, knife and $200 in change, total $1,450, stolen from vehicle May 20 or 21 from 26000 block Nick Davis Road
• Kawasaki brand cordless drill and 10 pounds of dog food, undetermined value, stolen during burglary May 20 in 14000 block Baptist Camp Road
• Visa debit card stolen May 21 from 19000 block East Limestone Road
• Two mailboxes valued at $35 each stolen in separate thefts May 21 or 22 in 19000 block Richter Road
• Copper wire of undetermined value stolen May 22 from 27000 block Pepper Road
• Miscellaneous jewelry valued at $800 stolen May 19 from 27000 block Will Braden Circle
City arrests
The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Monday:
• Jesse James Savage, 32, of 22284 Buttermilk Way, Athens, possession of a controlled substance
• Richard Aaron McElyea, 32, of 500 Elkton St., Apt. E-24, Athens, second-degree possession of marijuana
• Hazel Roberta Balentine, 40, of 18108 Coffman Road, Elkmont, second-degree theft
City thefts
The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Monday:
• Apple brand Ipod 8G valued at $200 stolen May 10 from 22196 Chickasaw Drive
• Boat gasoline tank valued at $300 stolen May 20 or 21 from 1312 W. Hobbs St.
• Merchandise valued at $657 stolen May 21 from 104-E U.S. 31
• Three gold rings with diamonds and one gold ring guard, total $$6,125, stolen from 210 E. Pryor St. between April 25 and May 22
• Metal door, air-conditioning unit and kitchen stove, total $800, damaged May 21 or 22 at 100 E. Sanderfer Road, Apt. 136
• Coach brand purse containing office keys, vehicle key, makeup, debit card, two checkbooks, pair of Costa Del Mar brand sunglass cases, miscellaneous cards and a wallet, total $645, stolen from vehicle May 22 at 1011 U.S. 72
• General Electric brand microwave oven valued at $250 stolen from 17422 Lochaber Drive between May 20 and 23
• Miscellaneous wood and slide valued at $200 damaged due to criminal mischief at 1403 U.S. 31 North between May 20 and 23
• Verizon brand car cellphone charger, Ryobi brand flashlight, Garmin brand global-positioning system, total $295, stolen May 22 or 23 from Ford F-150 pickup parked at Quality Inn at 1488 Thrasher Boulevard
• GMC C-1500 sustained $300 damage due to criminal mischief May 22 or 23 at 1107 Grace Ave.
