Police spokesman officer Christopher Levy says the teen jumped into the postal truck at Dauphin Island Parkway on Tuesday and told the postal carrier where to drive him.
Levy says the ten ran after getting off the truck and was arrested a short time later.
Police say the teen did not appear to be armed and the postal carrier was not injured. The U.S. Postal Service says her mail delivery was delayed for several hours.
Levy says the teen was taken to Strickland Youth Center. His name was not released because he’s a juvenile.
