- Asa Savoie, a kindergarten student, enjoyed his chance to dig in the dirt Thursday.
After receiving a grant from the Alabama Wildlife Federation through General Electric, volunteers spent Thursday building a certified outdoor classroom at Cedar Hill Elementary School in Ardmore. The outdoor classroom was built in its entirety on Thursday by students, faculty, parents and volunteers from General Electric and the Alabama Wildlife Federation. The classroom will include habitats for songbirds, butterflies, lizards, frogs and fish as well as a variety of plants.
