Kimberly Marie Haney and Samuel Spencer Gates

Ann and Leon Haney of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Marie Haney, to Samuel Spencer Gates of Athens, son of Doug and Betsy Gates.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Bessie and Louis Haney and Myrtle and John Keyes.

She is a graduate of Athens High School and Athens State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Carl Gates of Athens and the late Lillian Gates and Lester and Shirley Rich.

He is a graduate of Athens High School and a graduate of the University of Alabama where he received a Bachelor of Science in commerce and business administration.

The wedding is planned for April 9 at First United Methodist Church in Athens.
