Mabel Hasting

The funeral for Mabel Harris Hasting, 86, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home with Lynn Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

She died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Mrs. Mabel Harris Hasting was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Limestone County to Will and Annie Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John W. Hasting.

Survivors include sons, Tony Anthony Hasting and wife Sonia of Athens, and Johnny Wayne Hasting and wife Sabrina of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Betty Hasting McDonald and husband Johnny of Lester; brother, Woodrow Harris of Bartow, Fla.; sister, Margaret Willard of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren, Tammie McDonald Davis, Alisha Hasting Green, Melodi Hasting Tyler, Corey Hasting, Stacey Hasting, Tyler Hasting, Johnathan Hasting, Jamie Hasting and Jana Hasting; great-grandchildren, Audra and Ashton Davis, Garret Green, Neeci Tyler, Levi Hasting, Connor and Cody Hasting, Jayce and Julia Pitts.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Johnathan Hasting, Jamie Hasting, Stacey Hasting, Corey Hasting, Tyler Hasting, grandson-in-law Mark Davis, and family friend, John Baugher.
