MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) The chief of the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, Hugh McCall, has been appointed as the state’s new public safety director by incoming Gov. Robert Bentley.
Bentley filled two more spots in his cabinet Thursday with the appointment of McCall to lead the Department of Public Safety and the announcement that Lee Sentell would remain as director of the Alabama Department of Tourism.
Sentell held the same position under Gov. Bob Riley.
McCall is a 30-year veteran of law enforcement and has held several leadership positions at public safety.
Sentell is the former city editor of the Decatur Daily. He also served as marketing director for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and tourism director of the Huntsville Convention and Visitors Bureau.
