The snow may be melting but The News Courier has preserved your snowmen for the first-ever Best Christmas Snowman contest.

You have one more day to vote for your favorite.

Eighteen readers of The News Courier submitted photos of snowmen via Facebook and e-mail. Photos of the entries are shown in color on pages 9 and 10A in today’s edition and at enewscourier.com.

To vote, e-mail the number corresponding with the photo to Kelly Kazek at kelly@athensnews-courier.com, or circle your favorite photo and bring it to The News Courier office at 410 W. Green St., Athens, by 4:30 p.m. today.

First- through third-place winners will be announced in Friday’s edition. First place receives a News Courier umbrella and a copy of Kazek’s book “Forgotten Tales of Alabama;” second place receives an umbrella; and third place a copy of The News Courier’s cookbook.
