BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Police in Birmingham say a man has been found shot to death, and are trying to determine if the death is linked to two killings a day earlier.

Police spokesman Sgt. Johnny Williams says a body was found in a drainage ditch early Wednesday.

The Birmingham News reported that a woman was found Tuesday near the Birmingham-Midfield line.

Midfield Police Chief Frank Belcher said an officer was called to investigate a burned truck and found the woman’s body in a ditch. She was in her early 20s, partly clothed and may have been raped.

Belcher said the death may be linked to a man found dead Tuesday morning in southwest Birmingham. Detectives said it appears the unidentified victim was shot elsewhere.
