MELVINDALE, Mich. (AP) — The Wayne County prosecutor says she’s charging three teen boys in the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl at a hotel after a high school homecoming dance.
All are charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The 17-year-old is charged as an adult but a pair of 16-year-olds will be handled in Juvenile Court.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy says Friday the girl had access to alcohol and was sexually assaulted on Oct. 3 after the Melvindale High School homecoming dance.
Worthy says it’s a bad mix of “reckless adolescents, liquor, no parental supervision and hotel rooms.”
The 17-year-old’s name was not immediately released. Police are investigating whether an adult reserved the hotel room.
