Used book sale

Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will have a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Library.

Free drive-in movie

A free showing of “To Kill a Mockingbird” will be at dusk tonight at the Cinemagic Theatre Drive-In on Jefferson Street. Limited to the first 80 cars. Gates open at 7 p.m. BBC Wales is scheduled to attend to film part of a documentary.

SOA downtown walk

Spirit of Athens is sponsoring a downtown walk and tour of five restored buildings from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Cost is $20; tour starts at Carole Foret Fine Art on Market Street.

Footlights auditions

Footlights Community Theater will be auditioning for summer season shows “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Steel Magnolias” on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in Athens State University’s McCandless Hall. Bronc clinic

The Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo annual Bareback and Saddle Bronc Clinic is at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Rodeo Arena on Alabama 99 in Athens. Cost for the two-day school is $100. Must pre-register by Saturday, May 1. Call (256) 232-0111 for information and applications.

Charity breakfast

The Bethel, Tenn., Masonic Lodge will serve a buffet breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday. Proceeds go to charity. Non-perishable food items for the food bank also being accepted.

ALG candidate forum

Alliance for Limited Government will hold a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Monday at Athens Recreation Center. Invited speakers are all candidates for the Alabama House District 5.

Head Start recruitment

Library special fax rate

Until June 1 Athens-Limestone Public Library will provide job-seekers Fax services for half price –– $1 for first page and 50 cents for each additional page. Faxes may be received for same prices. Call (256) 233-1233.
