One person has died and as many as five are injured following a wreck on Interstate 65 between mile markers 350 and 355. Multiple cars were involved but the number is unknown.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The accident occurred before 2 p.m.

Three medical helicopters were at the scene to transport victims to area hospitals.

Northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate have been closed and motorists are asked to exit at 351 northbound, or 354 southbound.
