The funeral for Jimmy Jack Birdwell, 65, of Elkmont will be at 11 a.m. today at Spry Funeral Home with Bob Watson officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery.

Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Mr. Birdwell was born May 11, 1944, in Limestone County. He was a retired truck driver and a member of O’Neal Church of Christ in Athens.

He was preceded in death by Mary Ann Birdwell.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Birdwell of Elkmont; daughters, Shelia Maddux of Boaz and Ronda Nicholson of Athens; son, Keith Birdwell of Athens; stepson, Terry Watts of Athens; stepdaughter, Sherry Jeffreys of Rogersville; seven grandchildren; brothers, Glenn Birdwell of Decatur and L.L. Birdwell of Athens; sisters, Marine Eubanks, Bessie Flack and Brenda Hill, all of Decatur, Carolyn Williams and Francis Brackeen, both of Athens; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Brackeen, Gary Birdwell, Greg Birdwell and Wayne Birdwell.
