- Jennifer Tillman and Bryan Herring dance the night away with friends at the Athens-Limestone Foundation's Gala IX on Valentine’s Day 2009.
The Athens-Limestone Hospital Foundation has been making a difference to the community for 10 years through its annual gala to raise funds for the Emergency Room and other hospital needs.
E.R. improvements have included the addition of five treatment rooms as well as a centralized nurses station.
The E.R. treats one-third of the population of Athens and Limestone County each year. Primary funding for the project was provided by individual and corporate contributions as well as Foundation events such as the Crystal Cup and annual Gala.
Gala X, “A Decade of Difference,” will be somewhat later than in years past. The night of dancing, fine dining, glamour and glitz is scheduled from 7 p.m. to midnight April 17.
For the second consecutive year, the Gala will be held at the Westin, Bridge Street Town Center.
Gala X will provide support for the hospital through the Julia Ann Stacey “Sweet Charity Fund.” Stacy was a Red Cross volunteer for 25 years before losing her battle with cancer on August 26, 2009.
For Gala X reservations or to learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please call the Foundation office at (256) 233-9236.
