Flenoy Ables

Flenoy “Smokey” Ables, 73, of Toney died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Huntsville Hospital.
Born Thursday, Jan. 30, 1936, in Ardmore, he was the son of the late William Ables and the late Vinnie Jones Ables.
He was a lifelong resident of this area. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. He enjoyed trading and was always “Right There.” He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen Neeley Ables; brothers, Weldon Ables, Eugene Ables; and a sister, Marie White.
Surviving are sons, Ronald Ables and wife Doris, and Bobby Ables and wife Nancy, all of Toney; daughters, Cheryl Geske and husband Ken of Toney, and Carol Sims and husband Randy of Elkmont; brothers, Wilburn Ables of Ardmore, Tenn., and Paul Ables of Taft, Tenn.; sisters, Peggy Richardson of Taft, and Mary Fowler of Florida; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Hovis officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
