Kandess Ruth Johnson of Heflin and Daniel Nathan Anderson of Athens were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony May 30, 2009, at Samford University, Reid Chapel, in Birmingham with the Rev. Lamar Davis and the Rev. Dwayne Palmer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Beverly Johnson of Heflin. Her grandparents are Norris Johnson, Mrs. Jimmie Nell Vise, both of Heflin, the late Helen Johnson, and the late Buster Vise.

The groom is the son of Marlin and Valera Anderson of Athens. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Fogg of Athens, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Anderson Sr.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Matron of honor was Krystal Johnson Mogouirk, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Taleah Hunt Collum, Jill Grubbs Benefield, Ashlee Elizabeth Turner, and Laura Ann Cobb. Junior bridesmaid was Mollie MaClae Owens. The flower girl was Elizabeth Brooke Kelley.

Marlin Anderson and David Atwood Anderson served as best men. Groomsmen were Jason Miller Hennessee, John Raymond Kelley, Ryan Taylor Magouirk, and Christopher Jackson Anderson.

Music was provided by Hunter Goff and Joshua Meredith. The guest register was kept by Beverly Poe Garner.

A reception followed the ceremony at Rosewood Hall at SoHo Square.

After a wedding trip to Disney World, the couple returned home to Huntsville.
