Athens swimmers complete regular season undefeatedAthens Swim Team finished the regular season undefeated (4-0) with a win over two Tennessee teams during a tri-meet this week.

Athens Swim Team finished the regular season undefeated (4-0) with a win over two Tennessee teams during a tri-meet this week.
Leading the team with three individual first place wins each were Miriam Aaron, Henry Calatrello, Szymmy Day and Benton Key. Athens hosted the Fayetteville Swim Team and the Marshall County Swim Team. AST will move on to the district championship meet next week in Florence.
• In 6-and-under boys, Henry Calatrello finished first in the 25-yard back. Swimming as an 8-and-under he finished first in the 25-yard breast and first in the 25-yard fly. Also in the 6-and-under division, Ian Mason placed second in the 25-yard free and third in the 25-yard back. Will Pyburn finished third in the 25-yard free.
• In 8-and- under girls, Sophie Bodiford finished first in the 25-yard breast, second in the 100-yard individual medley (IM) and second in the 25-yard fly. Kobie Melton finished first in the 100-yard IM, first in the 25-yard fly and second in the 25-yard breast. Kade Sparks first in the 25-yard back, third in the 25-yard breast and third in the 100-yard IM. Elise Emens finished second in the 25-yard free.
• In 8-and-under boys, Hampton Key finished first in the 100-yard IM, third in the 25-yard back and third in the 25-yard fly. Benjamin Carlota finished second in the 25-yard free. Jayce Thorton finished first in the 25-yard back.
• In 9-10 girls, Annie Calatrello finished first in the 25-yard breast and second in the 100-yard IM. Mallory Underwood finished first in the 100-yard IM and first in the 25-yard fly. Emma Preston finished first in the 50-yard free and third in the 25-yard fly. Maya Day finished first in the 25-yard back, second in the 25-yard fly and second in the 25-yard breast.
• In 9-10 boys, Daniel Aaron finished first in the 25-yard breast. Thomas Hall finished first in the 100-yard IM, second in the 25-yard back and second in the 25-yard fly. Jacob Green finished second in the 50-yard free and third in the 25-yard back. John Lauderback finished second in the 100-yard IM and third in the 25-yard fly.
• In 11-12 girls, Melissa Aaron placed first in the 50-yard breast, second in the 50-yard free and third in the 50-yard fly. Ellen Haapoja finished first in the 100-yard IM. Lindsey Martin finished first in the 50-yard back and second in the 100-yard IM. Katelynn Melton finished second in the 50-yard back, second in the 50-yard fly and third in the 100-yard IM.
• In 11-12 boys, Benton Key placed first in the 5o-yard breast, first in the 100-yard IM and first in the 50-yard fly. Austin Tucker placed third in the 50-yard free and third in the 100-yard IM. Wesley Watwood placed third in the 50-yard breast.
• In 13-14 girls, Miriam Aaron finished first in the 50-yard breast, first in the 100-yard IM and first in the 50-yard back. Madelyn Oliver placed first in the 50-yard free, first in the 50-yard fly and second in the 100-yard IM. Emily Leopard finished second in 50-yard free, second in the 50-yard breast and third in the 100-yard IM. Leah Lauderback finished third in the 50-yard back.
• In 13-14 boys, Szymmy Day placed first in the 50-yard breast, first in the 50-yard back and first in the 50-yard fly. Jack Calatrello finished first in the 100-yard IM, second in the 50-yard back and second in the 50-yard free. Thomas Calatrello finished second in the50-yard breast, second in the 100-yard IM and second in the 50-yard fly. Alec Mason finished third in the 50-yard free and third in the 50-yard breast.
• In 15-18 girls, Jessica Lambert finished first in the 50-yard breast, first in the 100-yard IM and second in the 50-yard back. Hayley Stewart finished first in the 50-yard back, second in the 50-yard fly and third in the 100-yard IM. Emmie Bodiford finished second in the 50-yard breast and third in the 50-yard fly. Grace Anne Aaron finished second in the 50-yard free. Victoria Beck finished third in the 50-yard breast and third in the 50-yard back. Joela Aaron finished third in the 50-yard free.
• In 15-18 boys, Matthew Davis finished first in the 50-yard breast, first in the 100-yard IM and second in the 50-yard back. Matt Counter finished first in the 50-yard free, second in the 100-yard IM and second in the 50-yard fly. Tyler Kingery finished third in the 50-yard free, third in the 50-yard breast and third in the 50-yard back.
• In 8-and-under relays, Melton, Bodiford, Calatrello and Key took first in the 100-yard mixed medley. Key, Carlotta, Jayce Thornton and Calatrello took first in the boys 100-yard free. Sparks, Bodiford, Emma Pyburn and Melton took first in the girls 100-yard free.
• In 9-10 relays, Lauderback, Underwood, Calatrello and Hall took first in the 100-yard mixed medley. Calatrello, Underwood, Day and Preston took first in the girls 100-yard free. Green, Lauderback, John Oliver and Hall took first in the boys 100-yard free.
• In 11-12 relays, Key, Melton, Martin and Tucker took first in the mixed 100-yard medley. Martin, Aaron, Melton and Haapoja took first in the girls 100-yard free. Tucker, Watwood, John Bachus and Key took first in the boys 100-yard free.
• In 13-14 relays, J. Calatrello, Day, Aaron and Oliver took first in the 100-yard mixed medley. Oliver, Lauderback, Leopard and Aaron took first in the girls 100-yard free. Day, Mason, J. Calatrello and David Gilmore took first in the boys 100-yard free.
• In 15-18 relays, Davis, Stewart, Beck and Counter finished second in the mixed 100-yard medley. Beck, Stewart, Bodiford and G. Aaron finished second in the girls 100-free. Davis, Counter, Kingery and T. Calatrello finished first in the boys 100-free.
