Billy Wayne Daniel

Billy Wayne Daniel, age 73, of Mobile, entered eternal life at his home in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 20, 2009, surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill was born on January 6, 1936, in Ardmore, Tenn., to the late Lofton and Elsie Carter Daniel and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Korea and stateside. He was the owner of Coastal Funeral Home and Cremations, and Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moss Point-Escatawpa, Miss. He dedicated his life to his family and his career to owning and operating numerous cemeteries across the country. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Mobile Stake, Theodore Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Patricia Ann Daniel; sister Pauline Andre; and brothers Bobby, Glen, and Homer Daniel.

Survivors include his children, William D. “Billy” Daniel of Tuscaloosa; Valerie Daniel Parsons of Jackson, Miss.; Angelia Daniel Poteet and her husband Charles, of Lafayette, Tenn.; Wayne Gaddy, of Wiggins, Miss; Debbie Gaddy Langford and her husband Dewitt, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Danna Gaddy of Chattanooga; and former wife, mother of his three children and dear friend Shelby J. Daniel. Bill was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Coastal Funeral Home at 10 a.m. today, with Bishop Walter Stringer officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. today at Coastal Funeral Home.

Entombment will follow the service in the Daniel Family Mausoleum on the property of Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Daniel Toulomelis, Jacob Lofton Daniel, John-David Wynne, Jr., Adam Davis, Raymond Pylant, Chad Deason, and Charles Poteet.
