Yard sale

Habitat for Humanity will have a yard sale to benefit the upcoming Women’s Build at 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday at the First United Methodist church bus barn diagonally across the street from the Beasley Center (corner of Bryan and Monroe Streets).



Flag disposal

American Legion Post 49 at 124 Cloverleaf Drive, behind Staples, will dispose of torn or dirty flags at 7 p.m. Friday.



Historical Society trip

Limestone County Historical Society will sponsor a tour of Gallatin and Sumner counties in Tennessee Friday. Author Nathan Harsh will lead the tour. Non-members are invited for a $10 fee. Meet at 7 a.m. in the Kmart parking lot. Call Richard Martin at (256) 278-1262.



Flag Day and cookout

The Athens State Flag Day celebration and cookout will begin at noon Friday in the ballroom of the Sandridge Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Musical revue auditions

Footlights Community Theater is holding auditions for “Night on Broadway,” a dinner theatre musical revue, from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday in McCandless Hall at Athens State University. Indian Artifact Show

A free showing of Indian artifacts will be from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday in the ballroom of Athens State University. Free identification of relics. To exhibit, call John Hammons at (256) 232-0698 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to reserve a table. Genuine artifacts only. No reproductions. Sponsored by the non-profit Alabama Rebel State Archaeological Society.

AHS Ladies of 1984 reunite

The ladies of the Athens High School class of 1984 will hold a reunion luncheon from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27 in the fellowship hall of Blackburn Road Baptist Church. Cost for lunch is $15. Contact Jammie Williams Patrick for more information at (256) 230-6256 or (256) 777-5159.



Lego Robotics Camp

West Limestone’s Lego Robotics team will host a summer robotics camp from 9 a.m. until noon July 13-16 for students who have completed third through fifth-grades. The camp will be held in the old gym at WLHS. Cost is $30 per camper and includes a T-shirt and daily snacks. Students will work in teams to build and program Lego NXT robots. Applications are available at the school office or by contacting Jamie Patrick at (256) 230-6256. Applications will be accepted until June 10 or until all slots are filled.
