Stephen Rivers, brother of NFL quarterback and former Athens High standout Philip Rivers, officially transferred from Austin High School in Morgan County to his brother’s alma mater Tuesday.

Stephen, a sophomore, played quarterback at Austin High School . Philip’s and Stephen’s father Steve Rivers will join the coaching staff at Athens High, working with Head Coach Allen Creasy.

Philip Rivers plays for the San Diego Chargers. He graduated from Athens High in 1999.
