More entries are welcome and a marching band is needed for the Nov. 8 veterans parade in Athens.

Deadline to enter is Friday.

Patriotism is the parade theme, which has returned to Athens after an eight-year absence. Prizes will be awarded for best float, best vehicle and best overall entry.

The veterans’ parade route will be the same as the annual Christmas parade route. Although there is no entry fee, donations to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Fund would be appreciated.

Parade entries will line up at 9:30 a.m. on parade day.

Position numbers will be distributed, so participants must be on time.
