Limestone County Commission synopsis

This is a synopsis of action taken on agenda items by the Limestone County Commission when it met in regular session Monday. The commission approved:
• A contract with Dr. Robert E. Pitman, DVM, Limestone Veterinary Clinic, to renew an animal control contract at $8,137.50 a month, retroactive to Oct. 1.
• Reappointment of Mike Besh to the E911 Board, with term ending Sept. 30, 2012, retroactive to Oct. 1
• Out-of-state travel for Mike Nave to Little Rock, Ark., Nov. 13-19, via county vehicle for the 19th National Trails Symposium
• Bid for one or more 15-passenger vans for the Sheriff’s Department at $28,930 each from Jimmy Smith Pontiac-Buick-GMC
• Family medical leave for Michael W. Wallace from Sept. 23 to Oct. 23
• Preliminary and final approval for the re-subdividing of Lots 27, 28 and 61, Carriage Park off Mooresville Road in District 2; and Jerry McGlocklin Subdivision, Lot 1 into two lots, off U.S. 72 and York Lane, in District 3.
• Permission for Deborah J. Davis to use the county right of way from U.S. 72, south to 14088 Bluebird Lane, to allow Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority to install a water line to her residence.
• 15 mph speed limit on Nave Road in District 3
