BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — An east Alabama man was sentenced to 262 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

The U.S Attorney’s Office in Birmingham said Wednesday’s sentence was given to 26-year-old Zack James Lawrence of Chambers County. He pleaded guilty in April to charges he distributed child pornography and attempted to entice a minor.

Prosecutors said Lawrence solicited what he thought was a 12-year-old girl to meet him to have sex and sent images of child pornography over Internet chat line. The girl turned out to be an adult woman working with a group called “Perverted Justice.”

Lawrence will be incarcerated for 21-years, 10 months.
