Andrew Neal Marks
The funeral for Andrew Neal Marks, 50, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Daryl Brooks and Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 Thursday night at the funeral home.
Mr. Marks died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at home after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 3, 1957 in Michigan City, Ind., to Bob Marks and Virginia Eloise Minor Marks in Michigan City, Ind.
He retired from General Motors, was an Army veteran and a member of Grace Celebration Community Church. He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Virginia Marks Gill; one infant brother, Steven Marks; his grandparents, Robert “Doc” Marks and Ila Marks; and his father-in-law, Doug Compton.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Anne Compton Marks of Athens; his father and stepmother, Bob and Vickie Marks of Athens; one son, Andrew “Drew” Douglas Marks; one daughter, Kathryn “Katie” Marks Winton and husband Stevie of Havelock, N.C.; one half brother, Bobby Wayne Marks of Athens; three sisters, Janette Chambers and husband Mark of Athens, Theresa Compton and husband Tony of Athens, and Annette Creekmore and husband Steve of Athens; one grandchild, Majaiden Grace Winton; several nieces and nephews; and many, many loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Winton, Eddie “Spike” Robertson, Tony Compton, James Gill, Jeremy Gehlhausen, Steve Metzger, Terry Jenkins and Michael Compton.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Coleman, Joe Compton Jr., Josh Harris, Adam Coleman and Brad Pierce.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Mid-South Home Healthcare of Madison.
