GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after a body washed up on a Gulf Shores beach.

Fire Department Chief Tim Blakemore says the body was found Tuesday night. He would not release details.

A Gulf Shores police dispatcher says emergency personnel found the body after a search and are not looking for other people. She says authorities may release more information Wednesday.

A petty officer with the Coast Guard in Mobile, Roger Sustaire, says the Coast Guard assisted in the search. He says authorities found one person who had drowned about 10 p.m.
