Limestone County District Attorney Kristi Valls said recently that much of the crime in Limestone County is now drug related.

Nothing could be truer, especially when you consider the recent indictments handed down by a Limestone County grand jury.

Of the 128 indictments issued by the grand jury, 65 are drug related with the majority of the 126 people indicted being charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and cocaine.

Valls made the statement when questioned by reporters about the increase in the circuit criminal caseload, especially in capital murder cases that are waiting for trial.
