The graveside service for Donald Wayne Thomas, 42, of Athens will be at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 2, at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Wayne Dement officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomas died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at home.
He is survived by his wife, Caprice S. Thomas of Athens; one son, Jonathon Thomas of Tennessee; his father-in-law, Wallace DeVore of Madison; his mother-in-law, Sue DeVore of Madison; one sister, Teena Street of Tennessee; his uncle, Ricky Duke of Tennessee; his brother-in-law, Christopher DeVore and wife Anna of Madison; five nieces; one nephew; one great-niece; and several friends.
Mr. Thomas was born June 19, 1965, in Liberty, Tenn. He worked at Athens-Limestone Hospital as a paramedic. He taught emergency medical technician classes at Calhoun Community College. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was an independent dealer for Clark Vault Co. He found the love of his life when he met Cappi. The couple married March 24, 2003. He loved his in-laws and considered them to be his own mother and father.
Pallbearers will be Wallace DeVore, Jim McCracken, Bart Baugher, Patrick Baugher, Paton Baugher, Jim Matthews, Greg Knight, Rick McGill and Voyce Holt.
