Helen Irene Jackson Hagood

The funeral for Helen Irene Jackson Hagood, 89, will be Saturday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski, Tenn., with Toby Powell, David Carpenter and Bill Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Minor Hill Cemetery.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hagood went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Giles County, Tenn., on Sept. 22, 1917, where she lived until she moved to Athens five years ago. She was a member of Minor Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hagood was a homemaker and she was retired from Gabriel Industry.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ozro Hagood; daughter Beverly Solomon; brothers Wilburn Jackson, Woodrow Jackson, Albert Jackson and Avery Jackson; sisters Willa Mae Beard, Evelyn Daws, Ethel Powell, Marie Craig and Elizabeth Craig.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anna Kennemer and husband Alvin of Athens; son-in-law Stan Solomon of Nashville, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Christie Bennett and Karla Shinkunas of Athens and Candace Solomon of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Whipple, Blake Bennett, Ben Shinkunas and Jeb Shinkunas, all of Athens; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Hagood’s nephews.



E. Stuart Johnson

The funeral for E. Stuart Johnson, 94, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Athens Church of God with Terry Jackson officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Spry Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. Johnson died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Omaha, Neb. He was a member and trustee of Athens Church of God and retired from ConAgra.

He is survived by his daughter, Pat Kersten of Commerce, Mich.; five sons, Dennis S. Johnson of Athens, Jim Johnson of Elkmont, Stephen A. Johnson of Burleson, Texas; Jay E. Johnson of Chanhassen, Minn., and D. Scott Johnson of Johnson Lake, Neb.; a nephew, Rick Johnson of Lincoln, Neb.; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers. Steve Clary is honorary pallbearer.



Nathan Brian Randolph

Graveside service for Nathan Brian Randolph, 37, of Athens will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Sandlin Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Randolph died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at home.



Ethel Rose

The funeral for Ethel Rose, 96, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Jessie Littrell and Greg Patrick officiating.

Burial will be in Evans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rose died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at home.
