James Bragg Adams
The funeral for James Bragg Adams, 83, of Decatur will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Adams died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital.
He was born June 21, 1923, in Limestone County. He was a member of the Church of Christ and retired from Stone Lumber Co. in Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel W. Adams and Ora Lee Adams; one daughter, Wanda Lucille Adams; three brothers, George James Adams, Ossie Garland Adams and Sam W. Adams; and three sisters, Edna Alberta Shelton, Mary Elenor Odell and Vona D. Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Erline Adams of Decatur; one daughter, Martha Cooper and husband George of Decatur; one son, Vernon Adams and wife Laura of Decatur; two granddaughters, Jennifer Earp and husband Chad, and Melissa Barnett and husband Chris, all of Decatur; two grandsons, Jamey Cooper and Patrick Adams, both of Decatur; three sisters, Mattie Casteel of Nashville, Tenn., Mary McMunn of Missouri and Evelyn Ezell of Rogersville; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Adam Loggins
U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Adam Loggins, 27, of Athens, passed away Thursday in Al Anbar Providence in Iraq.
Survivors include his parents, Danny and Becky Loggins of Athens; sister, Amber Loggins and fiancé David Godwin of Athens; brother, U.S. Army PFC Josh Loggins of Hawaii; maternal grandmother, Mildred Collins of Huntsville; and fiancé Brandy Heath of Athens.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mayfair Church of Christ. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Sylvia J. Lovelace
The funeral for Sylvia J. Lovelace, 65, of Rogersville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. R.C. Craft officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lovelace died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence.
She was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and attended Pentecostal and Baptist churches.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Traylor and husband Jimmy of Rogersville; one son, James Lovelace and wife Patricia of Knoxville; two brothers, O.B. Hall and Mike Hall, both of Decatur; four sisters, Ellie Potts of Decatur, Georgia Jones of Atlanta, Pearl Taylor of Elmonte, Calif., and Rebecca Davis of Ardmore, Ala.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Spry and husband Drew of Chattanooga, Christy Richardson and husband Derrick of Rogersville; Brittany Traylor and Whitney Traylor, both of Rogersville, Jesse Lovelace and wife Carrie of Sterling, Colo., and Ashley Lovelace of Knoxville; three great-grandchildren, Julie, Madelyn and Leela Richardson, all of Rogersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Lovelace, Jesse Lovelace, Mike Hall, Drew Spry, Derrick Richardson and Wallace Traylor.
John E. Tatum
John E. Tatum, 76, of Athens died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. McConnell Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
