Norma Theodora Rohde

A memorial service for Norma Theodora Klatt Rohde, 52, of Athens will be at noon Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Calvin Havens officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Rohde died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Huntsville Hospital. She was born April 28, 1954, in Turtle Lake, N.D., to Theodore Klatt and Delia Mayer Klatt.

She graduated from Mercer High School in 1972. She married Russell Allen Rohde Jr. on Jan. 19, 1975. They moved to California, where she worked in the banking industry. In 1989, Norma and her family moved to Alabama. The following year, she began her career at CFD Research in Huntsville and remained with them until her passing. Norma was a loving and generous wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She was also an avid treasure hunter and she had a great passion for gardening. Norma actively supported causes she believed in by volunteering. She was very environmentally conscious. She was a compassionate, action-oriented individual.

Norma is survived by her husband, Russell A. Rohde Jr.; one son, Russell A. Rohde III; and one daughter, Rachel Ann Rohde, all of Athens; her mother, Delia M. Klatt of Turtle Lake, N.D.; two brothers, Wayne B. Klatt and wife Cheryn of Turtle Lake; and Theodore B. Klatt and wife Michelle of Baldwin N.D.; five sisters, Linda L Stanford and husband Glen, Inez E. Klatt and Kristie K. Klatt, all of Athens, Vickie L. Tredge and husband Jeff of Eagle, Idaho, and Teresa R. Brummond and husband Boyd of Havana, N.D.; three brothers in law, Duane O’Helm of Turtle Lake, and Jay Rohde and wife Andrea, and Mark Rohde and wife Tracy Denisi, both of California; 26 nieces and nephews; and 23 great nieces and great nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Klatt, and one sister, Gloria J. Helm.

In life, Norma loved flowers and would have been touched by those sent in her memory. Memorial gifts may be offered to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Charles Albert Williams, 81, of Anderson died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at his residence. Spry Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
