Four men who were injured during a fight Saturday night at a home west of Athens have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Our investigators questioned the four of them and they all put blame on the other, so we decided to put all four in jail,” said Limestone County Investigator Brian Ruble. Marcos Garcia, 22, Gabriel Duran, 27, Hector Manuel Maldonado, 19, and Roberto Maldonado, 46, all of 16601 Zehner Road, Athens, were jailed on charges of third-degree assault and public intoxication.
Ruble said investigators responded to a call at the home at approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found four men who appeared to be highly intoxicated and bleeding from injuries they apparently received during a fight, Ruble said.
“They got into it about something and started fighting,” Ruble said. “When our investigators could not get anything out of them, they took all four to jail.”
Two of the four men were taken from the scene by ambulance to Athens-Limestone Hospital. They were treated in the emergency room and later released.
