Enid Weissinger Crutcher

Enid Weissinger Crutcher, 32, died at her home in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday, March 9, 2007. She was born June 11, 1974, in Opelika, Alabama.

Enid graduated from Lee-Scott Academy in Auburn, Alabama, and she held a degree in interior design from Auburn University, where she was a member of Phi Mu. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Birmingham and a leader of Community Bible Study.

Enid is survived by her husband, John Marshall Crutcher Jr. of Birmingham; her parents, Charles and Enid Weissinger of Auburn; two brothers, Mitt Weissinger and wife Rebecca of Dunwoody, Ga., and Howard Weissinger and wife Hayden of Auburn; grandmother, Patsy Loveless of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 12 at 3 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 65 Old Montgomery Highway, Birmingham. A time of visitation will follow.

Friends are invited to be with the family for a graveside service Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at Rosemere Cemetery in Opelika, Alabama. Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home is directing.

Following the burial, the family will receive friends at the Weissinger home in Auburn.

Martha Hall

The funeral for Martha Elaine Hall, 79, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home with Tim Anderson and Larry Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hall died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

She was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Booneshill, Tenn., to J.C. and Ruth Patton Hopper. She and Edd Hall married Feb. 8, 1946. They recently celebrated 61 years together. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her next 50 years to serving her various churches in Tennessee and Alabama and to her love of children by serving in the nursery, with the last 25 years as First Baptist Church of Athens. Her health brought retirement around 1987, but her heart remained with the babies. Though she could not physically participate, she was an avid supporter of the Relay For Life, being a 14-year breast cancer survivor herself.

She is survived by her husband, Edd Hall of Athens; sons, Wayne Hall and wife Rhonda of Athens, and John Hall of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Malinda Keyes and husband Richard of Rogersville; brother, Pat Hopper and wife Vonda of Pulaski, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Richard Hall and wife Amy, Laine Morris and husband Jim, Jennifer McWreath, Timothy Hall, Christy Hall, Ryan Keyes and wife Julie, and Will Keyes; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Hall, Richard Hall, Jim Morris, Mike Pylant, Dustin Cobb, Ryan Keyes and Will Keyes.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to American Breast Cancer Research.



Dorothy Vinson

The funeral for Dorothy Mae Vinson, 73, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Leamuel Green and Donald Terry officiating. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vinson died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Athens Convalescent Center.

She was born Sept. 7, 1933 in Limestone County and was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by sons, Wayne Vinson, Roger Vinson, Ricky Vinson and David Vinson.

She is survived by four sons, Anthony Vinson and Thomas Vinson, both of Athens, Randy Vinson of Elkmont and Daniel Vinson of Lester; three brothers, Jerry Adams and James “Buddy” Adams, both of Athens, and Morris Adams of Elkmont; four sisters, Cora Bell Pugh, Evelyn Gatlin and Esther Barnett, all of Athens, and Ruby Jane Haggermaker of Elkmont; 10 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 13 step- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Vinson, Lee Broadway, Brad Broadway, Michael Cox, Anthony Anderson and Kenny Vinson.
