The Christmas tree at the new Athens Police Department on Hobbs Street commemorates fallen officers Tony Mims and Sgt. Larry Russell, who were killed in the line of duty Jan. 2, 2004. The tree, festooned in red, white and blue, was decorated by Debbie Smith.
