Local artist Booi Crafts, right, unveiled her portrait of the late historian and author Faye Axford recently at the preview party of the Donnell House Festival of Trees. At left, is Donnell House Board Chairwoman Carolyn Crow. Mrs. Axford wrote several books on Athens and Limestone County history and donated proceeds to the restoration and preservation of the Robert Donnell House on the campus of Athens Middle School. The Christmas trees flanking the portrait were decorated by Crafts with miniature book covers from Mrs. Axford’s books. The festival continues today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
