Luis Antonio Grave
Graveside service for Luis Antonio Grave, 3, son of Juana Grave Jose and Rene Lopez of Athens, will be at 3 p.m. today at Roselawn Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be from noon to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Luis died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, in Athens.
Kenneth John Miller Jr.
The funeral for Kenneth John Miller Jr., 75, of Athens, will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, with father Paul Alookaran officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home, with the rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Mr. Miller died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at home.
He was retired from the Navy and was a member of the Carmelite Society. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Fleet Reserve Association for 25 years, and Full Gospel Business Men for 25 years. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mr. Miller received the Secretary of the Navy Commendation, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Miller of Athens; three sons, Michael Kenneth Miller of Annapolis, Md., John Christopher Miller of Damascus, Md., and Christopher John Miller of Athens; five daughters, Marianne Patricia Miller of Waldorf, Md., Dorothy Anne Brannan of Athens, Julie Anne Litz of Largo, Fla., Suzanne Estep of Prince Fredrick, Md., Katherine Anne Carter of Glen Burnie, Md.; one sister, Suzanne Grebe of Ambler, Penn.; one great aunt, Marguerite Droughman of Clearwater, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Miller.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Riggleman, Jason Riggleman, Adam Miller, Jack Brannan, Russell Estep Jr., Christopher Estep and Jason Compton.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities USA.
Van Buren Wales
The funeral for Van Buren “Boogie” Wales, 83, of Elkmont, will be at 11 a.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with James Turner officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Wales died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006.
He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. A retired supervisor of the Limestone County School Board shop, he was owner and operator of Wales Barber Shop for 70 years. He and his wife, George Ethel Wales, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec. 22.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eva Gertrude Wales.
Survivors include his wife, George Ethel Wales; sons Jerry Wales and his wife Julia and Tommy Wales, all of Elkmont; daughters Nancy Bailey and husband Joe and Lynne Weigart and husband Keith, all of Athens; grandchildren Duane Wales, Jessica Barlow, Keenan Wales and Paxton Weigart; great-grandchildren Bryant Wales, Caroline Barlow, Anna Grace Wales and Parker Barlow; three step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Christine Broadway, Eva Daly and Barbara Clem, all of Elkmont; two brothers, Raymond Wales of Elkmont and Ed Wales of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grant Wales, Glenn Turner, Duane Wales, Chris Barlow, Gary Daly and Walter Rochelle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Wales, Paxton Weigart and Parker Barlow.
Memorials may be made to the Elkmont Lions Club or your favorite charity.
