Robert Edgar Cagle

Graveside service for Robert Edgar Cagle, 62, of Madison, will be at 11 a.m. today at Wesley Chapel Cemetery with David Tubbs officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Cagle died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Crestwood Hospital.

He was born May 11, 1944, in Ozark, Ark. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha McElroy Cagle, his father, Ernest Cagle, and a sister, Martha June Cagle Barnes.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Tribble Cagle; three sons, Bobby Cagle of Howe, Okla., Johnny Staggs of Florence, and Howard Roberson Jr. of Piqua, Ohio; a daughter, Carol Ann Reynolds of Madison; six grandchildren; and one brother, William “Bill” Cagle of Mulberry, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Long, David Bates, Dillard Martin, Dennis Miller, Jackie Tucker and Jack Tucker.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Madison County.



Lou Ella Hargroder

The funeral for Lou Ella Hodges Hargroder, 87, of Athens, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Mike Owens officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hargroder died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Limestone Lodge. She was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Woodville. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, a master gardener and seamstress, former manager of David Lee Department Store in Decatur, a former employee of the Council on Aging in Limestone County, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Disaster Relief at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, James Ray Hodges and wife Jean, and Robert Dean Hodges and wife Nancy, all of Athens; a daughter, Linda Owens and husband Mike of Elkmont; six grandchildren, Kimberly Goree of Somerville; Jon Hodges of Marrow, Ga., Christopher Hodges of Athens, Evan Hodges of Jacksonville, Michael Owens of Hazel Green and Sara Craig of Ardmore, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren, Logan Goree, Kyle Goree, Seth Ray Goree, Morgan Owens, Macy Owens, and Trinity Craig; and a sister, Montell Hodges of Woodville.

Pallbearers will be Mark Goree, Michael Owens, Jon Hodges, Allen Craig, Christopher Hodges and Evan Hodges.

Billy Joe Jones

The funeral for Billy Joe Jones, 68, of Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Ronnie Curry officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

Ruth Legg Lyle

Graveside service for Ruth Belmont Legg Lyle, 94, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. today at Athens City Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Bassham officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lyle died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Athens Convalescent Center.

She was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Limestone County to Jim Ed Legg and Maggie Hurn Legg. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, where she remained active as long as possible. Mrs. Lyle was a charter member of Athens Garden Club, a member of Athenian Study Club and a member of several bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Lyle Sr., and her only child, William David Lyle Jr.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Lyle of Athens; two grandsons, David Edward Lyle and wife Sherry of Athens, and James Hershel Lyle and wife Shannon of Athens; six great-grandchildren, Christa Nicole Lyle, Heather Renea Lyle, Sarah Murphy, Nicholas Blake Lyle, Brandi Shaneyfelt and Brooke Cathcart; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Marie Goodin, Johnathan Stonebrooke Osborne and Austen Drake Shaneyfelt.

Jane Patterson

The funeral for Jane Patterson, 62, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. today at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. George Dudley and the Rev. Steve Dorning officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Community Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Patterson died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

She was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Limestone County to Weaver Dupree “Dub” Greenhaw and Margaret Elizabeth Crim Greenhaw. She was a member of Lebanon Community Church. She had worked for Dubs Burgers for 15 years and for the Limestone County Board of Registrars for 10 years. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Patterson; one son, Russell Patterson; and two sisters, Barbara Lipham and Jean Sharpe.

Survivors include a daughter, Tina Patterson Hicks and husband Keith of Athens; a son, Mark Wayne Patterson and wife Trisha of Central Point, Ore.; her mother, Edna Greenhaw of Athens; two brothers, John Greenhaw and Dexter Greenhaw, both of Athens; four grandchildren, Paige Hicks, Tyler Hicks, Zac Patterson and Bella Patterson; and a great-grandchild, Meredith Hicks.

Pallbearers will be Greg Greenhaw, Chad Greenhaw, Lanier Greenhaw, Tracy Patterson, Michael Patterson and Shane Greenhaw.

William K. Rolin

The funeral for William Kenneth Rolin, 66, of Ardmore, Tenn., will be at 1 p.m. today at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Rolin died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville.

He was born July 17, 1940, in Ardmore, Tenn., to Eddie Martin and Ruby Dean Reece Rolin. He lived in this area all of his life and was a member of the Cash Point Baptist Church. Mr. Rolin and his wife LaDeva were the owners of several businesses during their life together, a mini-mart, boat store, restaurant and an antique mall. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ken Rolin.

Survivors include his wife, Ladeva Rolin of Ardmore, Tenn.; a daughter, Tina Green and husband Stoney of Ardmore, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Davis, Tommy Campbell, Jerry Smith, Gurmej Singh, Tim Rolin and Rocky Green.

Lee June Ward

The funeral for Lee June Ward, 53, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home with Harold Prosser officiating. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.

Mrs. Ward died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at her residence.

She was born June 26, 1953, in Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Russell Malone, and a brother, Melzer Malone.

Survivors include two sons, Michael E. Ward II and William E. Ward, both of Oklahoma; two daughters, Wanda Wesley of Oklahoma and Angeleena Nash of Athens; her mother, Wilma Cobb of Arkansas; three brothers, Robert Jones and Norris Malone, both of Arkansas, and Russell Malone of California; two sisters, Wilma Malone of Kansas and Linda Miller of Oklahoma; and 13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathon Nash, Zachori Blackwell, Scott McMahan, Nick Sandlin, Phill Carr and Cody McMahan.

Grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
