Donald Allen King

The funeral for Donald Allen “Duck” King, 46, of Athens will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Oscar Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mr. King departed this life Nov. 12, 2006. He was born June 16, 1960, in Limestone County to the late Robert Lee King Jr. and the late Rosie M. Griffin. He graduated from West Limestone High School in 1978.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline S. King; and a wonderful stepfather Edward Griffin (wife Sarah); one son, Donald A. King Jr.; one stepson, Laquitis Shoulders; six sisters, Mattie Jones and husband, Robert, Diane Long and husband, Richard, Charlotte Murray and husband, John, and Carla King, all of Athens, Louise Sampson and husband, Jacob, of Huntsville, Sherrill Turner and husband, Billy Fred, of Harvest; one brother, Robert E. King of Athens; two aunts, Irene Harris and Estella Matthew and husband, Horton, both of Athens; three uncles, Willie King of Athens, Price King and wife, Louella, of Louisville, and George Lee King, Milwaukee, Wis.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
