Donald Allen King
The funeral for Donald Allen King, 46, of Athens will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Oscar Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Mr. King departed this life Nov. 12, 2006. He was born June 16, 1960, in Limestone County to the late Robert Lee King Jr. and the late Rosie M. Griffin. He graduated from West Limestone High School in 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline S. King; one son, Donald A. King Jr.; one stepson, Laquitis Shoulders; six sisters, Mattie Jones and husband, Robert, Diane Long and husband, Richard, Charlotte Murray and husband, John, and Carla King, all of Athens, Louise Sampson and husband, Jacob, of Huntsville, Sherrill Turner and husband, Billy Fred, of Harvest; one brother, Robert E. King of Athens; two aunts, Irene Harris and Estella Matthew and husband, Horton, both of Athens; three uncles, Willie King of Athens, Price King and wife, Louella, of Louisville, and George Lee King, Milwaukee, Wis.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Charlotte C. Oldenburg
A memorial service for Charlotte Cannon Oldenburg, 56, of Athens will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clements Baptist Church with Tim Anderson officiating.
A second service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Miss., with Dr. Henk Kuiper officiating.
Mrs. Oldenburg died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was born Feb. 25, 1950, in Mississippi. She was a retired licensed practical nurse for Dr. Henk Kuiper at the Vicksburg Clinic in Vicksburg. She was a member of Clements Baptist Church in Limestone County and a former member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, David Oldenburg of Athens; her father, Eddie Cannon of Vicksburg; three daughters, Crickett Chapman of Shreveport, La., Krissy Wilder of Conway, S.C., Jaime Coon of Port Gibson, Miss.; six grandchildren, Tommy Messina, Tate Messina, Chloe Chapman, Morgan Wilder, Gracen Wilder and Jason Lee Coon; and one brother, Larry Cannon of Vicksburg; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Clements Baptist Church.
Elmelinda Pablo Ortiz
A graveside service for Elmelinda Pablo Ortiz, 8 months, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery with David Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be from noon-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
The child died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, in Athens.
