The News Courier will publish, free of charge, death notices including the name, age and city of residence of the deceased, date and place of death, and time and place of funeral service and visitation. Family members may express themselves in a eulogy, list survivors and give detailed biographical information about the deceased in a paid obituary. The News Courier will accept these paid items from the family, funeral directors or other individuals. Paid obituaries may include a photo at no extra charge. Arthur F. Champion

Memorial service for Arthur Fredrick Champion, 74, of Ardmore, will be today at 6 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Brister officiating.

Visitation will be immediately following the service.



James Lewis Nelson Sr.

Funeral for James Lewis Nelson Sr., 82, of Ypsilanti, Mich., and formerly of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ypsilanti Church of Christ with Gary L. Vaught officiating.

Burial will be in Washtenong Memorial Park with Stark Funeral Service officiating. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. until the service at the church Friday.

Mr. Nelson died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006.
