LINEVILLE – Tanner ended a successful season in defeat Friday night, falling 26-7 to Lineville. The Rattlers produced 327 yards of offense to Lineville’s 302, but could not convert those yards into points.

Tanner struck first in the opening quarter when Cliff Bunch hauled in a 62-yard pass from Demarcus King. George Adams converted the PAT and Tanner led 7-0.

Lineville responded in the second quarter on Brent Kidd’s quarterback keeper. He rushed it in from two yards out and the extra point knotted the game at 7-7.

The score remained tied at the halftime, but Lineville slowly pulled away in the second half behind the strong play of running back D’Eric Jackson.

Jackson threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Dexter Cosby in the third quarter. Tanner’s defense denied the PAT keeping the score 13-7.

In the final quarter, Jackson was on the receiving end of a 42-yard touchdown from Kidd. Tanner stopped the two-point conversion attempt making the score 19-7.

Jackson later added a 55-yard touchdown rush. The extra point was good bringing the final score to 26-7.

Demarcus King completed 21 of 35 attempts for 207 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. Jarquez Peoples led the Rattlers with 55 rushing yards on the night.
