An Elkmont woman was arrested in Decatur in connection with money stolen from a veterinary clinic, a Decatur Police officer said.

Krystal Love King, 33, of Elkmont was charged Monday with first-degree theft of property and taken to Morgan County Jail, where she posted $1,500 bond.

On Nov. 3, Dr. Michael Newman of the Veterinary Regional Referral Hospital reported to Investigator Herb Lundy of the Decatur Police Department that more than $2,500 had been stolen from the hospital at 2117 Veterans Drive S.E., Decatur, Lt. Chris Mathews stated in a press release.

“A pattern of theft was discovered, which had been going on for over four months,” Mathews said.

King, who worked as a night shift veterinary technician at the hospital, was identified as the suspect and arrested 10 days later, he said.
