Family members may express themselves in a eulogy, list survivors and give detailed biographical information about the deceased in a paid obituary. Doris Brown
Doris Lee Manley Brown, 73, of Hazel Green, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006.
She was born in Danville, Va. Mrs. Brown resided in Huntsville most of her life and in Hazel Green since 1972. She retired from P.R. Mallory and worked at the Limestone County Council on Aging for several years. She also worked at the Medical Center Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noland Brown and one brother, J.C. Newman.
Survivors include her son, Jim Manley and wife Sue of Athens; daughters, Mary Betterton and husband Joe of Toney, Susi Turri and husband Robert of Athens, Cindy Hicks and husband Richard of Hazel Green; sister, Imogene Ruppel of Charlottesville, Va.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. today at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Laughlin Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery.
Franklin Beaver Snyder III
Franklin Beaver Snyder III, 65, of Elkmont, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Spry Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Max Anthony Winter
Max Anthony Winter, 81, of Athens, died at home Monday, Nov. 6, 2006.
Mr. Winter was born May 21, 1925, in Manitowoc, Wis., to Albert Winter and Elizabeth Phillipsen Winter. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Athens. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Eaton Corp in 1990. Survivors include his wife Audrey Winter; son, Steve Winter, and wife Peggy, of Harvest; daughters, Judy Winter of Madison and Carol McCarver, and husband Rick, of Athens; mother-in-law, Myrtle Nelson of Athens; grandchildren, Josh Winter, Corey Winter, Ben McCarver, Mac McCarver and Jenny McCarver.
Mr. Winter was preceded in death by his parent and two brothers, Al Winter and Joe Winter.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
A memorial service will be held later.
