Agents from the Athens-Limestone Drug Task Force arrested five people Thursday night when authorities raided two homes on Montreat Drive in Athens.

Arrested and jailed were Brandon Lavar Cain, 29, of 1209 Montreat Drive, Jarvis Deshun Cain, 27, of 1306 Montreat Drive, Michael Deangelo Mosely, 19, of 1201 Brownsferry St., and Arum Neutravali Noble, 34, of 15987 Hasting Road. Each was charged with first-degree illegal possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance; and Abdul Yashar Akkas Nasseri, 24, of 17915 Dobbins Road, was charged with second-degree illegal possession of marijuana.

Athens-Limestone drug agents Lance Royals and Johnny Morell said officers found marijuana growing inside one home. They confiscated marijuana and a number of illegal pills from another.

“We had been watching these two homes on Montreat Drive off South Hine Street for some time and we executed a search warrant Thursday night and raided both residences,” said Morell.

At 1209 Montreat Drive, drug agents said they found 10 marijuana plants growing inside the garage. They also found pills and bagged marijuana in a closet inside the bedroom of a 9 year old. Brandon Cain and Nasseri were arrested and taken into custody at that residence, Royals said.

At 1306 Montreat Drive, agents found a small amount of marijuana inside the home and found pills inside a vehicle parked in the yard. Mosely, Noble and Jarvis Cain were arrested at that home.

Bail bonds for the Cains, Mosely and Noble were set at $10,000 each. Bond for Nasseri was set at $1,000.
