Flora M. Watson

Flora “Cissy Mae” Morrison Watson, 79, of Dwight, Ill., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at 3 p.m. at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

She was born March, 24, 1927, in Chance, Ky. She was the daughter of Charlie and Virgie Patterson Morrison. She married Cameron Watson on July 3, 1953. He passed away in 1992. They were married 39 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Provence and husband Randy of Dwight, Ill., Cindy Sharp and husband Philip of Athens; three grandchildren, Brittany Provence of Des Moines, Iowa, Cameron Sharp, Matt Sharp, both of Athens and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Flora, who grew up on a farm, was a homemaker, and helped her husband for 33 years before moving to Illinois in 1998. She was a member of the Emory’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Chance, Ky. She was an animal lover, who especially loved her dogs.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Columbia, Ky., at Stotts, Phelps, McQueary Funeral Home.



Elizabeth Allen Williams

The funeral for Elizabeth Williams, 87, of Athens, will be at noon Saturday at the Round Island Creek Mission Center on Lucas Ferry Road with the Rev. Clarence Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at People’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Poplar Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Sunday, Oct 29, 2006, at her home.

She was born May 16, 1919, to Bertha Hines and George Allen in Limestone County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Clayton Williams; two sons, Willie Roy Williams, Sylvester Williams; one daughter, Mattie Meeks; siblings, George Allen, Willie James Allen, Esther Hines and Brittain Hines; stepmother Maude Allen; one grandson, Roland Gray and two great-grandchildren, Mario Gray and Larry Farrar.

She leaves to cherish her love and beautiful memories: five sons, Erskin Williams of Louisville, Ky., Sonny Williams, Leo Williams and wife Earnestine, Tom Williams and wife Christine, Otis Williams, all of Athens; six daughters, Edna Ruth Gray of Chicago, Ill., Martha Ann Hammonds and husband John, Bertha Bibbs and husband Willie, all of Louisville, Ky., Emma Moore and husband James of Rockford, Ill., Lois Williams of Athens, Aquanette Mangrum and husband Leon of Rogersville; one sister, Ada Mums of Athens; forty-one grandchildren, seventy-seven great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
