Ama Lou Johnson Daniel

A graveside service for Ama Lou Johnson Daniel, 104, of Elkmont was at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Lewis Cemetery in Mount Airy, Tenn., with Joe Weir officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Daniel died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

Born on Sept. 4, 1902, in the Sequatchie Valley near Dunlap, Tenn., she lived in Chattanooga, Tenn., for the most part of her adult life, moving to North Alabama to live with family members in 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tollie Daniel, and a stepdaughter, Katherine Roberts. She was a member of the White Oak Church of Christ in Chattanooga.

She is survived by a stepgrandson, Doug Roberts of Lexington, Ky.; a niece, Lura Lee Kee of Chattanooga; a nephew, Victor Johnson of Dunlap, Tenn.; two great-nieces, Patricia Chavanne of Elkmont and Martha Giardina of Atlanta; a great-nephew, David Rollings of Knoxville, Tenn., and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were Dolph Bradford, Christopher Chavanne, Bert Bradford, Dave Bradford and Lynn Johnson.



Manuel Javier Pagan

Infant Manuel “Manny” Pagan passed away at St. Louis Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006. A memorial service will be held at Madison Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, Ala., on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m.

The child was born June 28, 2006.

He is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Nestor and Cindy Pagan; his biological parents, Desirae Aguilar and Jaysson Gonzalez; grandparents Don and Jimmie Lee Sanders of Madison; Edith Salas of Newark, New Jersey, and Nestor and Juanita Pagan of Homestead, Fla. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him.
