Spiritual prescriptions that heal

When we hear the word “prescription,” we usually think of prescribing medicine for an illness. This is indeed an important meaning and has at times blessed most of us. Taking a spiritual prescription can help us to live more abundantly. Le me suggest several spiritual prescriptions that everyone can take with only good “side effects:”
A prayer prescription, which should be taken every day: “O, God, lead me by thought, word, and actions to do Your good will today.”
Take a capsule prescribed by Norman Vincent Peale: “The way to happiness: Keep you heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Love simply, expect little, give much. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think of others. Try this for a week and you will be surprised at the result.”
Try taking a tablet prescribed by Ruth Stafford Peale: “Live one day without any unhealthy thoughts. It may be very difficult, but try another day until is becomes habitual, and life will move in the direction of becoming healthy, vital, and alive.”
Take a healthy dose of the following vitamins:
Vitamin A–Affirm others and their needs.
Vitamin B–Build bridges of communication with others.
Vitamin C–Compassion for others is good for the soul.
Vitamin D–Disciplined living brings good results.
Vitamin E–Encouragement blesses everyone.
Laugh every day; it’s like inner jogging.
Prayer: Give me a sense of humor, Lord, give me the wit to see a joke, to get some humor out of life and pass it on to others.
If you make a mistake, learn from it. Don’t dwell on the past.
When we are wrapped up in ourselves, we make a very small package.
God’s grace gives us forgiveness and gives us the power to forgive other and ourselves.
Someone in my path today needs a gracious word of encouragement that I can provide.
The great thing about taking these spiritual prescriptions and multivitamins is that they are effective for everyone’s health. In fact, the more we take them and share them with others, the more blessed we all become.
