Trojans win Randolph Invitational

HUNTSVILLE – Athens Bible cross-country coach Bill Murrill couldn’t complain after the Trojans overall effort in the Randolph Invitational this weekend at the UAH Eurocross Course.

Murrill’s junior varsity girls scored 44 points to take top honors over several Class 4A-6A schools including Bob Jones, Austin, Muscle Shoals and Brooks.

The Trojans also had good finishes from the varsity girls, varsity boys and junior varsity boys at the meet.

Leading the JV girls team was Hallie Sandberg, finishing in eighth place with a time of 16:16. Amelia Harwell followed with a ninth place finish, while Krys Eubanks finished 10th, Aubrey Hagewood finished 12th, Sara Bobo finished 16th and Victoria Dunaway finished 85th.

Andy Davidson finished 22nd out of 273 runners for Athens Bible’s varsity boys. Logan McWhirter finished 53rd followed by Andrew Pittman at 54th to lead the Trojans JV boys to a 13th place finish.

Chelsea Burgess finished 44th to help the varsity girls to a 11th place finish.

Athens Bible leaves Thursday for a meet in Knoxville.
