Cecil Allen Bell
A graveside service for Cecil Allen Bell, 97, of Toney, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Bell died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville.
Novella Hillis
The funeral for Novella Hillis, 73, of Elkmont, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Ms. Hillis died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Sunbridge Care Center in Ardmore, Tenn.
Nick W. Rowe
Nick W. Rowe, 85, of Athens, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, in Opelika. Arrangements will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.
Clara Mae Shoulders
The funeral for Clara Mae Peoples Shoulders, 77, of Tanner, will be at noon Thursday at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Thomas Sanderfer officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home of Decatur directing. Burial will be in Houston Cemetery in Athens.
The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Shoulders died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.
Marcheta Haney Swanner
The funeral for Marcheta Haney Swanner, 81, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home with Eric Bell, Willie Earl and Judge Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Tanner Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Swanner died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
She was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Limestone County. She was a member of Tanner United Methodist Church and belonged to the Tanner United Methodist Church Women’s Circle. She was also a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. Swanner of Athens; one son, Jim Swanner of Eva; two daughters, Martha Ann McBay and Lynette McBay, both of Athens; two brothers, Ransom Haney and Billy C. “Button” Haney, both of Athens; three sisters, Juanita Sims of Lyman, S.C., Jewel Hunt of Toney, Hazel “Tootsie” Smith of Baileyton; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
