All ramps off Interstate 65 into Athens and the westbound lane on U.S. 72 will be closed for about two hours today while motorcycles in the annual Trail of Tears come through Athens.

Some 70,000 to 90,000 motorcycles are expected to arrive in Athens sometime around the noon hour, police said. Motorists should avoid that area then.
