Maxine Pearce Morrow

Funeral for Maxine Pearce Morrow, 89, of Birmingham and formerly from Athens, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Morrow died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006 at Baptist Princeton Hospital in Birmingham.

She is survived by one son, Richmond P. Morrow of Montgomery, one daughter, Lauren M. Moyers of Madison; one brother, N.D. Pearce and wife Linda of Opelika; two sisters, Clarene Pearce of Opelika and Sue Deshazo and husband Pete of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Tim Moyers of Madison, Kim Moyers Yeager of Vinemont, Pamela Moyers Page of Lester and Mandy Morrow of Decatur; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Pete Deshazo, Tim Moyers, Tommy Page, Perry Yeager, Blake Page, Chris Deshazo N.D. Pearce and Larry McCain.

Mrs. Morrow was born Sept. 29, 1916, in Hamilton, Ala., to Frank Pearce and Lilly Green Pearce. She was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens.

She was preceded in death by her husband C.R. “Shorty” Morrow and sisters Joy Carpenter and Kathryn Loden.



Thelma Corine Richardson

Funeral for Thelma Corine Richardson, 72, of Rogersville, will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Jimmy Cox and Terry Herston officiating. Burial will be in Hooie-Bedingfield Cemetery in Rogersville.

Mrs. Richardson died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at home.

She was a retired nurse and a member of Hurricane Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mutt Richardson; two daughters, Kathy Talley and husband Ted and Vicki Herston and husband Terry, all of Rogersville; one son, John Richardson and wife Melissa of Rogersville; two brothers, Bob Belue and Mike Belue and wife Tina, all of Rogersville; eight grandchildren, Leah Garner and husband Kevin of Rogersville, Kelli Cross and husband Dustin of Knoxville, Tenn., Wesley Parker and wife April of Rogersville, Jeremy Herston and wife Shelley of Rogersville, Matthew Herston of Rogersville, Jenni Herston and fiancé Kasley Kennedy of Rogersville, Ericia Mason and husband Alan of Rogersville and John David Richardson of Rogersville; and great-grandchildren, Parker Garner, Ali Parker, Emmalee Parker, Noah Parker, all of Rogersville, and two whom we have yet to meet.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hurricane Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Hospice of the Tennessee Valley.
